Nice site makeover man!

My favourite app is "bloomberg". I love keeping track of my stocks, it calculates the amounts + and -... definitely helped me "tighten" my trading strategies.

My Faves:

~Pandora definitely tops the list!
~iStudiez Pro is great because you can keep all your classes strait along with exams and assignments. S'cool Buddy is a free app that does similar but I don't like the interface as well.
~Accounts is a much easier way to keep my check book.
~iFlipr is great for notecards, you can create them online and share them so your friends can get yours before a study session.
~Groceries is an app that lets you keep lists of what you need, by aisle. Cuts down on the time I spend looking for stuff at the store.
~Mixologist if you're 21+, you can tell it what you have and it will tell you what you can make.
~Skee-Ball to relax or zone out that boring professor!

Agree the tip app is probably the best because there is nothing worse than figuring out a bill with college kids who don't realize you should just split everything down the middle and get out of there and stop wasting time.

Not that these are based for college students but some that I use the most include some pretty obvious ones also:

Facebook
Big12 pocket schedule (Handy to have the schedule for all big 12 teams quickly available)
Pandora (gotta have my music that way, and can stream it to my truck.
WootWatch (quicker than getting on my computer to see whats new)
The Weather Channel Free Version(quick radar map)
AppMiner (Great way to find recently released and stuff on sale, I check it quite often and have found some $15 programs that were free for 1 day only)
Fandango (check my movie times easily)
Comcast TV Listings (in case I need to change my schedule, I don't have DVR so it matters a little more)
Allpoint (shows on map where nearest ATM is located for free withdrawl)
myConvert (pretty good tool for all my conversion needs)
Google Apps and Google Earth

Lots of games but right now my fav free ones (have not paid for any yet) are
Upsi Looper; Quick Turn; Gorillas; iDork Lite; Unblock free

Not an all inclusive list cause like everyone else I have downloaded a bunch of useless crap that needs to just be deleted because I don't use it often.

P.S. I just got the iphone about a month ago so it is still brand new to me and looking for apps.

One that I want is something so I can browse my NAS and other computers that are on my network to look pull up documents or whatever else from the living room.

@Philip Thanks for your response man, could you share with cool iphone apps with us? I know the My Budget app costs a few dollars but I find that it saves me money in the long run because it helps me determine my flaws in terms of daily spending.

Can't find the first one in the app store unless it is just called My Budget, but is $1.99 and I don't see that much use out of it. Then pedometer just does not seem that helpful to know that information.

I did download the evernote and see if it is any better than simply the Notes included already on the iPhone.

I welcome these posts because if there are cool apps it is hard to find some out of the multitude available.
