The man should offer, but then graciously allow the woman to go Dutch if she so desires. Attracting people by wearing D & G is a bit silly, but it will attract a certain kind of girl. Doing it will attract the kind of girl who will size you up to figure out if you come from money or not and then make a move on you for that reason. Is that the kind of girlfriend you want? If it is, then please, by all means, commence in buying designer shirts to get girls. I agree that the best way to pick up a girl is just to have a good time in public. Personally I don't pay for dates, that is it is either split 50/50, i'll pay if its like a minor coffee date or sometimes I get the girl to pay.
