How I Messed Up In April Links Edition

by MD on May 3, 2009

Another month has come and gone so of course I have to write about my mistakes in terms of personal finance and life in general. April went by pretty quickly mainly because I was finishing up my exams and had little time for other activities. If you don’t care about me (which I can’t really blame you) then my how I messed up feature isn’t for you. However, I love hearing reader feedback on how their month went.

1. Joined a new gym. I really didn’t have to join a new gym but since my school semester came to an end I felt that I should find something close to home. I was fortunate enough to join with a friend and receive a 2 for 1 deal. The gym also offers mixed martial arts training which has been really fun and tiring the last few weeks. I will be discussing the worth of a gym membership tomorrow.

2. Caffeine habit still going strong. I can’t get rid of my morning coffee habit. Now that I don’t have to rush in the mornings I have more time to grab a coffee and relax while I read something.

All in all, April was a pretty productive month and I came really close to being completely junk food free. Just because I messed up I hope you didn’t think the links would be messed up.

Thanks for mentioning my article. Building a budget isn’t hard, it just takes time and the desire to get it right.

I completely understand your struggles with caffeine – it’s the one drug I can’t keep away from. I’ve tried in the past to drop it, but have never made it past detox. Maybe I’ll try again this summer.

Ah, refreshing to see someones screw ups ;)

I probably won’t agree on the gym membership much… but I can relate to the caffeine addiction. I’m not much of a coffee drinker, but I have other vices!

Don’t feel bad about the caffeine addiction. I’m having a heck of a time reducing my coffee intake too.

On the bright side I’ve turned it into a frugal habit by making almost all of my coffee. But ditching it all together may be a bridge too far.
