Wow, ground breaking advice! I know that this is easier said then done. This is why I wanted to share a few practical tips for how you could find an extra 50 bucks to put towards your credit card debt repayment every month:

Work part-time. You can likely find a side gig working at a local store. I’m not suggesting that you fill up every breathing moment of your day with work. However, we all have a few hours during the week that we can devote to making a few extra bucks. The extra money you earn can really go along way to speeding up the payment of your credit card debt. Plus you won’t be throwing away all of your free time.

For example, last semester I wanted to make a free extra dollars. I also didn’t want to take away too much time from studying. I applied for every job around the campus until I landed a gig as an Exam Invigilator. It was low stress work, on my campus, that allowed me to work anywhere from 3-7 extra hours a week.

Sell junk. Each month you should make it a personal goal to sell one item. If you’re always buying stuff then eventually your place will become filled with junk. If you make it a point to consistently get rid of stuff at a profit, you will not only have more money to put towards your debt, but you’ll reduce your clutter.

Cut just one thing. I hate reading advice on personal finance blogs that suggests you have to cut out all of the fun stuff from your life in order to save money. I truly believe that you only need to cut one item out of your spending. For me this one area has been clothing. Every month I spend less and less on clothing.
