There is no rule set in place that states you must drink on the weekends and that you can not work on the weekends. If you have the work ethic and dedication to work on the weekends then you will find yourself ahead of the game.

Too many younger people do not value the power of a part-time job. I like that you took a time normally reserved for spending money and presented it as a time for increasing your income. Great information!

Very interesting blog. As a recent graduate I can totally relate to your topics. There needs to be a balance between work and play. I worked all throughout high school and college and was able to graduate with no debt and enough money in the bank to put a down payment on my first house. However, when I look back I don't think to myself I wish I worked more, but rather I think I wish I worked a little less and enjoyed my time a little more.

There is plenty of time to make money once you have a degree. I figure I am making 3 times as much plus benefits in my full time job straight out of college as I was while I was working 40hrs+/wk part time with no benefits.

I still advocate hardwork and discipline, but also take time to have fun and reward yourself for you efforts.

Loved the post.

You've got a lot of good practical ideas there. I am the same way- it's like, "NO- I can't work on the weekends because that's when I catch up on life."

Life: college football, tennis, watching TV, hanging out with my wife and friends.

... not that those things aren't important, but you know what I mean!
