How Much Money Did You Spend This Christmas?

Before I write anything else I wanted to wish a…

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND SEASONS GREETINGS TO EVERYONE!

Now I realize that it would make no sense to write a full post on Christmas Day or Christmas Eve since everyone is busy getting together with family and all of that fun stuff. Instead I want to ask you guys a question in hopes of receiving a quick and brief response.

How much money did you spend this Christmas?

I personally do not want to share exact figures because I went all out this year.

I gave one of my brothers a laptop for free. Well to be honest I received this laptop for free from the giveaway that I held this past summer. The company was kind enough to send me a netbook and a laptop, and I was kind enough to give one to my brother who was moving away for college.

I purchased a golf set for my other brother. We started playing golf together in the summer. I drove by a sporting store in my area that was having a liquidation sale and they had two golf sets left. After haggling for a bit I was offered a decent discount on both golf sets. Now I have to figure out a way to stop losing to someone nine years younger than me.

I got my parents a weekend getaway to the Bahamas. Yep I really went all out this year.

You can play “Price is Right” and a guess how much money was spent.

Once again I ask you guys- how much money did you spend on Christmas shopping this year?

Take care and all the best!

Thanks For Getting This Far

I think I spent right around $500, give or take $50.

Wow. I didn’t spend that much money. A getaway in the Bahamas? yikes. I spent about $450 this year, most of it on a remote starter for my wife’s car. She’s pregnant and constantly cold – and has been asking for one for a while, so we splurged this year!

@Peter Well to be fair, I live here for free lol. They have been very helpful and the least I could do is send them away for a few days in the sun.

I spent a grand total of $213. That total was spent over the past 4 months as I shopped early to find good deals. That total is for my mom, dad, 3 siblings, godparents, 1 gift exchange, and 2 best friends. I find that’s reasonable.

Way too freaking much.

I was going cheap this Christmas, but my son’s gift came up really expensive. Then, I had to spend the same amount for my wife and daughter. After that, I spent a bunch for some nieces and nephews that had a rough year and an extra gift some someone who had nothing in the family exchange.

In the end, I was bummed that I overspent, yet again. But, I had a terrific year financially and am thankful I can absorb this expensive Christmas, without too much pain.

Merry Christmas

A lot actually, I have a budget though but was not able to control my spending … knowing how many nephews and niece I have, I really have to go beyond what I plan to spend for gifts…but then again it was a rewarding feeling seeing the smile on their faces.
