The best piece of motivational advice you will ever hear in your life is also probably the most basic. People often talk about the power of positive thinking and attitude adjustment amongst many other motivational theories. However, the other day I came across a very interesting link that was described to be motivational advice. What was this advice?
JUST F*CKING DO IT!
Yes that’s how simple the link was, one page with that phrase in huge writing. I thought about it for a second and realized that this statement made perfect sense.
The reason this is considered a rant is because it’s a bit of a rant against myself. I’m one of those people that has been known to think of excuses, to pass the blame, or to justify certain actions. That very simply phrase is all of the motivation that I need to push myself.
Simple and straight to the point. No psychological theory, no analysis, no testing, the advice tells you to just do it.
Are you tired too tired? Would you rather be watching tv? Are you out of breath? Well just do it. Don’t think in your head about a million reasons why you can’t do something, instead just focus on doing it.
For example, when I was in high school I never thought I could study at the university level. I thought of a hundred excuses as to why it would be to difficult or how I just didn’t have it in me. Well one day I applied, got in, and have been pushing myself ever since. I just did it!
I never thought I could run a personal finance blog, let alone one that reaches hundreds of people daily. I thought of all of the excuses in the world: I’m not much of a technical guy, it would consume too much time, I would run out of material, etc. Then on November 7th 2008 I got a huge burst of motivation and I ordered my domain. Ever since then I have been writing for Studenomics ever since then and my reader count has been slowly increasing. I may not be the best writer in the world but I just did it!
Now I want to pass the advice on to you guys. Is there something in your life that seems really difficult? Well next time you face a challenge, do not think of the reasons it can not be done, instead JUST F*CKING DO IT!

I think I started reading your blog not too long after you first got started and you’ve done a great job in building your brand and thinking of innovative ways to keep your readers informed.
Just thought I’d share that with you
Thanks for sharing that with me. If you ever have any issues, suggestions, or thoughts, please email them to me.
Great post! Thanks for pushing past the barriers and starting this blog. I subscribe to your feeds because I’m entering college and most of financial advice available is about how to get out of debt once you get out of college. I’m more interested in sidestepping debt altogether. Your blog is very helpful.
