I have written many times here about how much I love to travel. As a result I often receive many questions which I easily reply to in an email. A few weeks ago long time Studenomics reader Brian H. emailed me with the following question:
What credit card would you recommend for those of us that prefer not to carry cash? What are some of the benefits of the credit cards you use.
I had no clue how to answer this question because I rarely use a credit card when I travel. So I did some research on the best travel rewards credit cards and after a little bit I found some answers:
Blue Sky from American Express
Program Benefits: With Blue Sky credit card you don’t have to stress about annual fees. You can also earn 1 point for every dollar you spend. The card doesn’t have blackout date and there’s no travel limitations with the Blue Sky card.
Introductory rate: 0% APR for 12 months.
Balance transfer rate and fee: 0% APR for 12 months with 3.0% balance transfer fee.
Capital One No Hassle Miles Card
Program Benefits: Capital One No Hassle Miles allows you to earn more miles than any other travel rewards credit card. It lets you earn 1.25 miles per dollar on all purchases,. The card has no annual fee and there’s no limit on the miles you can earn. In addition, the reward miles never expire.
Introductory rate: 0% APR for 12 months.
Balance transfer rate and fee: 0% APR for 12 months with no balance transfer fee.
Discover Miles Card
Program Benefits: This travel rewards credit card allows you to earn 1 mile for every dollar spent. Every year you have the opportunity to get double miles with the first $3,000 on travel and restaurant. This credit card has no hidden annual fees and the miles you earn will never expire. The miles can be redeemed for travel credits, gift cards, and yes even cash.
Introductory rate: 0% APR for 6 months.
Balance transfer rate and fee: 0% APR for 12 months with 3% balance transfer fee ($10 minimum and $75 maximum).
