Isn’t it funny when your laziest friend shares nonstop motivational quotes about success on Facebook?
As you know, I love my quotes. I throw them into articles when I think that they’re going to help. I enjoy a good quote when I’m feeling down. I enjoy sharing motivational quotes about success. I don’t just aimlessly post quotes to avid doing work.
I just can’t stand the same useless quotes from the same people. Today I woke up to two motivational videos. One guy recorded himself giving motivation and he tagged like 40 people in it. Do we really need all of this motivational content?
I hate to break it to you, but the following is a harsh reality about motivational quotes about success and sharing them on social media…
Motivational quotes about success don’t pay the bills.
Sharing quotes doesn’t translate to profits. You don’t get paid to post about how inspired you are. You can post all day and then wait for new quotes to come up to post. That won’t do anything to improve your current situation.
Motivational quotes will never pay your bills unless some fool pays you to post quotes or if you run a profitable social media page around sharing inspirational quotes!
You need to do something more than just devour quotes all day. You need to get paid for your work. You can’t read The Secret and sit around hoping for the best. That’s not how it works. You have to actually produce and do something.

Here’s another harsh reality about sharing motivational quotes about success…
Your friends don’t want what’s best for you.
Most of your friends will just like your quotes to encourage you because they don’t want to be honest with you. Your friends aren’t bad people. They just don’t know what’s best for you. Your friends are going to like your stupid post and the cycle will continue. You’re going to continue “motivating” your friends with useless lines that won’t do anything.
You should never listen to your friends when chasing goals. You have to accept objective advice. You can’t dismiss critics as “haters.” You can’t think that you’re the best just because your friends feed your ego with social media attention.
You have to do what’s best for your situation.
You can’t just keep on keeping on, hoping for things to change. Nothing will ever change if you don’t change your attitude. You have to take bold action and daily action if you want to see any different results. Sharing another motivational quote about success won’t do that.
What’s the best thing that you could do right now to improve your finances?
“So if you’re paralyzed with fear, it’s a good sign. It shows you what you have to do.” — Steven Pressfield

There’s one last little point I need to touch upon in this little rant on motivational quotes about success…
You have to get the right people on your team/side.
Do you have a mentor? Are you surrounded by people who push you to do better?
Your drinking buddy can’t also be your training buddy, your business partner, your life advisor, your nutritionist, and your counsellor.
You need the right people on your team if you want this to work. You have to seek out advice from mentors and masterminds.
You can’t just rely on the same old friends on Facebook to help you out. It’s okay to branch out, try new classes, attend events, go to seminars, and meet different folks. You can’t be around the same people forever. You have to expand your social circle.
At the end of the day, you already know that motivational quotes don’t pay the bills. If you change anything this year, it better be removing your failure to launch.
You can post motivational quotes about success all day when you make enough money to take that dream vacation. For now, I want to see you take action. It’s okay to work behind the scenes.
Good stuff Martin! As you were talking about “get the right people on your team” it reminded me of a concept from the book “good to great” where on top of getting good people on your team, you need to get the wrong people off your team as well.
I like that. You are who you hang out with. You need to get the wrong people away from you ASAP.
